Diversity of Living Things and Their Behaviour

Genetics and Vertebrates

Invertebrates and Animal Healthcare

Lesson Summary

In this module, you will be introduced to the concept of zoology and how to classify living things using the modern taxonomy to arrange them. You will be taught about the binomial system of nomenclature, animal disease and healthcare. Furthermore, you will be shown the selective breeding process and what it entails.

Introduction to Zoology - Course Assessment

Introduction to the Course

A Historical Overview of Ecology

Ecology and Evolution

The Levels of Organisation

Species Abundance and Composition: Biodiversity

Biodiversity - II

In this module, you will be introduced to evolution and ecology. You will look at what are the interactions that are driving the abundance and distribution of individual animals? You will study the essential concepts of an ecosystem, biogeography evolution, modern population and community ecology. It will then discuss the role of fitness in evolution. Along with this, you will look at the emergent principle, the levels of organization in the biological world, and measures of biodiversity.

Positive Interaction

Negative Interaction

Study of Behavior and Behavioral Ecology

Food Chains, Food Webs & Trophic Levels

Primary Production

Nutrient Cycle

In this module, you will be introduced to ecological interactions. You will learn the difference between intraspecific and interspecific synergies. Along with this, you will explore the differences between exploitative competition and interference competition. You will look at different kinds of behavioural ecologies, such as foraging behaviour and anti-predator behaviour. This module will also cover primary production, the efficiency of production, and biogeochemical cycle.

Population Parameters and Demographic Techniques

Population Growth and Regulation

Population Studies and Applications

Community Nature and Parameters

Community Changes and Ecological Succession

Community Organisation

In this module, you will learn about population studies and applications. This includes the study of theories of population growth and regulation. You will also look at population parameters and demographic techniques. Then, this module will help you learn the specific traits that we can discern from a community. You will look at how the changes happen in community and how a community forms? This module will also discuss the relationship between biodiversity and stability.

Diploma in Wild Life Ecology - First Assessment

You must score 80% or more to pass this assessment.

Biography: Analysis of Geographic Distribution

Why are things Where they are?

Push and Pull Factors in Greater Detail

Threats to Species

In-situ Conversation

Ex-situ Conversation

Distribution, Abundance and Threatened Species - Learning Summary

In this module, you will be introduced with distribution, abundance and measurement of threatened species. This includes analysis of geographic distributions, dispersal and anthropogenic factors, and some push and pulls elements. You will look at population dynamics and extinction. It will then follow into characteristics of population dynamics, such as stochastic factors and deterministic factors. You will also study the ecological processes, that is in-situ and ex-situ conservation.

Introduction and Impacts

Human Population Growth and Food Requirements

Sustainable Development

Oil Spills

Plastic and Biodiversity

Impacts of Climate Change

In this module, you will be introduced with human ecology and the ecology of change. You will study the impacts of human beings on ecology, human population growth, food requirements, and sustainable development. It will then follow into a study of how the oil spill brings out a change in the ecology? This module will help you understand plastic and biodiversity, components of climate change and the working of the climate system in detail.

Optimum Yield Problem

Biological Control

Ecotoxicology, Pollution Management and Restoration Ecology

Revision: 01 - Wild Life Ecology

Revision: 02 Wild Life Ecology

Revision: 03 Wild Life Ecology

In this module, you will be introduced with applied ecology in greater detail. You will learn about optimal yield problem and numerical analysis of population size and the weight of stock. Then, you will look at the differences between controlled and uncontrolled pests. It will then follow into the study of different pest control methods in detail. This module will also help you learn about ecotoxicology, pollution management, and restoration ecology.

Diploma in Wild Life Ecology - Second Assessment

Final Assessment

Study the essentials around the concepts of ecosystems, evolutionary biogeography and ecotoxicology in this free course.

Advanced Diploma in Wildlife Ecology

Delve into evolution and ecology in this free course on wildlife ecology. You will study the essential concepts of an ecosystem, evolutionary biogeography, modern population theory and community ecology. With this, you will learn about the impacts of humans on ecosystems, human population growth, sustainable development, plastics and biodiversity, and the components of climate change. You will then be introduced to the study of ecotoxicology.
